Frequently Asked Questions
Please review the frequently asked questions below. If you don’t find the answer to your question, feel free to contact our new patient coordinator via email, or set up a FREE Discovery consultation.
Can I become a patient if I don't live close to your clinic?
Absolutely! Many of our patients live outside of the local area and we have adapted our practice to work with patients wherever they may be. While we do encourage patients to have a face to face visit initially, we understand that it isn’t always possible. If you would like to become a patient the process is very simple. First follow the New Patient Checklist and have all your paperwork filled in and sent to the clinic. When you call let the staff know that you would like to be a distance patient and they will explain the process. Dr. Glenn will evaluate your intake materials and determine which labs you need. The once the labs have been completed and the result are back, he will put together a plan for you and then schedule to visit with you personally. This can be done by phone or Skype. All subsequent consultations may be conducted by phone or Skype. If traveling for your first visit, we suggest arriving on Sunday and schedule for the Monday morning. For more information about this option, please call the office.
What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine asks the vital questions that very few conventional doctors ask: “Why do you have this problem in the first place?” and “Why has function been lost?” and “What can we do to restore function?” In other words, Functional Medicine looks to find the root cause or mechanism involved with any loss of function, which ultimately reveals why a set of symptoms is there in the first place, or why the patient has a particular disease label. If you would like to learn more please visit our Functional Medicine page and/or our blog.
What conditions does Functional Medicine treat?
Functional Medicine is uniquely designed to address chronic disease conditions by uncovering the root causes of these conditions. These include Thyroid Dysfunction and Hashimoto’s, Autoimmune Disease, Alzheimer’s and Dementia, Diabetes Type II Reversal, GI problems, Female Hormonal Imbalances, and Depression. While there are many other conditions which respond to a Functional Medicine approach, these encompass the majority of our patients. If there is something you would like specific information on, please feel encouraged to contact us.
How long should I expect the consultation to last?
Expect the consultation to last for 60 minutes. If you are a good candidate for our care we will go over the test kits and some paperwork to get you started. This will be an addition 10-15 minutes. We value your time and do our best to provide a timely service.
What should I expect at the initial consultation?
At your initial consultation you will be given an opportunity to discuss your personal health goals with a functional medicine provider. This will be an opportunity for you and our staff to identify if you are a good candidate for our services.

Does your office take insurance for Functional Medicine services?
Many of our patients find that their Health Savings Accounts and Wellness Plans will cover our services. However, we are not staffed to bill insurance.
Some of the lab tests are covered by insurance and that will depend on your policies benefits.
We will provide you with a detailed billing summary that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement. There may be procedures or lab tests that are not covered depending on your plan’s benefits.
How much does a program cost?
Every patient is different and the cost of your first visit and program will depend on the number of lab test needed. Please note that the functional testing kits and supplements are an integral part of our process to uncover the root cause of your health problems. After your labs are completed and evaluated, Dr. Glenn will put together a program designed to restore your health. Our primary program is the Essential Program which covers 6-8 months and runs $2495. Learn more about the Essentials Program here.
Will Dr. Glenn be my primary care physician?
Dr. Glenn will be able to handle issues related to your chronic care needs. However, he does recommend that you maintain your primary care doctor for routine screening exams such as pap smears, colonoscopies, prostate exams, etc. and for emergency situations requiring immediate care or hospitalization.
